Education: The Solution for Poverty

Many of my fellow classmates argue that poverty is the largest problem this world faces. My question is, how are people suppose to end poverty? Education is the answer. People need to be educated on poverty and the poor need to be educated period. The UN has made a goal to universal education through their Millenium Campaign. With many other countries backing them with support, maybe one day we will see a brighter tomorrow.

Youth and United Nations

The United Nations have begun a promise to attempt to approve the education of youth. They want to stress the many importances of educational stimulation. They want to inform the students of their competing neighbors and encourage a healthy rivalry.  " Governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations are called upon to assist young people from developing countries to obtain education and training at all levels in developed as well as in developing countries, as well as to participate in mutual academic exchanges among developing countries". Their goal is to educate everything from cultural awareness to training youth workers and leaders. They want to help with the education of even poverty stricken individuals. Another goal of theirs to support education is also furthering the teachers education, great teachers make great students. They also want to focus on the equality of female education.

Obama Wanting To Make A Change

On September 14, 2010, the President of the United States visited Masterman Laboratory and Demonstration School in Philadelphia, PA. His main purpose was the " preach to the choir" about the importance of education now in the twenty-first century. He tells the audience that our destiny is determined by working hard and proper education. Obama says that "educationhas never been more important than it is today." His goal was to persuade the importance of education for the future of our country. He tells the students that excelling is a result of effort. He says being well educated and determined brings out the "best version of ourselves that we wasnt to be."
